The Difference Between Clairsentience and Clairempathy

September 24, 2019

Those who work in the metaphysical recognize eight different “clair gifts.” Some of these may be familiar to you.

  • Clairvoyance, or “clear seeing.”

  • Clairaudience, or “clear hearing.”

  • Clairtangency, or “clear touching.”

  • Clairgustance, or “clear tasting.”

  • Clairsalience, or “clear smelling.”

  • Then clairempathy, which is “clear emotional feeling.”

  • Clairsentience, which is “clear physical feeling.”

  • And claircognizance, which is “clear knowing.”

The two we will talk about today are the two abilities to feel; clairsentience and clairempathy.

What is Clairsentience?

Clairsentience means “clear-feeling.” It is the ability to feel and sense the unperceivable, such as the energy or mood of a place or being—past, present, and future. If someone has a headache, the clairsentient person can tell you where. If there was a major surgery, the clairsentient person can feel the remnants of nerve or muscle at the exact site.

More than that, a clairsentient person can feel energy feel shifts in nature like coming storms or natural disasters. Because of this sensitivity to natural energy, clairsentience brings on a deep understanding of humanity and why one person behaves one way, as well as why another can or can’t tolerate this behavior. For this reason, you will find that a clairsentient person may find difficulty in taking sides in an argument.

What is Clairempathy?

Clairempathy is specific to emotions. It is the ability to feel mood shifts and hidden feelings. It can tell of withheld fears, walled up anger, or stifled joy. Clairempathy is the sense of discomfort when someone who is mad at you is sitting with you or walks beside you. It’s the sense of distrust when someone is lying to you. It’s a sinking feeling in your gut when someone who is depressed or suicidal is near you.

But clairempathy is also sharing in the love someone is giving you. It is the joyful giddiness that comes with success and achievement. Clairempathy is feeling the happy with the happy and feeling the grief with the grieving.

How does this understanding or perception of the unseen work?

It’s all energy. Clairempathy and clairsentience pull from the high and low vibrations of places, people, animals, or even nature itself. When these vibrations shift and move, clairempaths and clairsentient people pick it up within themselves.
